Cougar Fight Song
Come on you Cougars, win this game!
Let's keep our honor and our name.
Let's hold our heads up high and make a cry.
And Shout for victory, Rah. Rah. Rah.
And when our school is on the go,
We're going to win and make a show.
We're going to fight to keep our honor,
For the school we love so well!

History in Our Community
Records on Clute School date from 1893. The first salaried teacher on record was Miss Lena Hunter. She was hired on September 1, 1907. Clute was part of the Evergreen School District in 1914 and was one of three schools: Clute Building (old church), Evergreen School and Eagle Island School. In 1920 District 14 was called Evergreen and had one teacher and one school. Prior to 1945 the school was known as the Clute Common School with grades one through eight. For many years Clute was Clute Junior High. In 1969 the ninth-grade moved to high school and Clute became Clute Intermediate School. In January 2006 students/teachers moved into Phase I of the new Clute Intermediate School. Phase II was completed in the spring of 2007.
