Volleyball Highlights from CIS vs LJI Game 10/13/16:

In a cross town rival game, Clute A and B teams fell in 2 straight matches to LJI. The experienced LJI was quick to jump out and secure a lead against the unmatched Cougars. 

7th Grade A team- L(10-25, 9-25) Caila Chacon was an all-around great player and a strong leader. A newcomer to the team, Michele Olivas came out in her debut game and made a lasting impression, playing confident and aggressive. 

7th Grade B team- L(5-25, 20-25) Karina Lopez played her first match and established herself as a leading force on the team. Jasmine Arenazas has fallen into her position as a setter and has led the team as well.

8th Grade A Team- L (12-25, 17-25) Although falling to LJI, coaches saw much improvement by the inexperienced team. The team fought to the end of the match. Keshawn Jones, a leader on the court, led the team with 6 kills and 1 ace. Erica Kaale had 3 aces. Kylee Jack had 4 kills. 

8th Grade B Team- L (16-25, 21-25) Shelby Strother stood out as a kill leader and server on the court. She ended the night with 3 aces. Vanessa Beltran picked up the team through her strong leadership skills and her passing.
